Beetroot Halwa

Punjabi Samosa | whole wheat samosa | street food



Ingredients:

For Dough:

1 Cup  whole wheat flour
2 Tbsp oil 
1 Tsp Ajwain 
salt to taste

For filling:

3-4 Potatoes boiled
1/4 Cup green peas 
1 tsp Ginger paste
1 Tsp Red chilli powder
1/2 Tsp Saunf powder
1/2 Tsp Roasted cumin powder
1 Tsp Coriander powder
Salt to taste
2 Tbsp Oil
Chopped coriander leaves

Oil for frying

Curd chutney :


3/4 Cup Curd
1 Tsp Ginger- garlic - green chilli paste
1 Tsp sugar
Salt to taste
1/4 Cup water

Method:

  • First for making dough , in a bowl add 1 cup of wheat flour, ajwain , oil and salt to taste ,mix well and make hard poori like dough using water .
  • Now for the filling, take a kadai, heat up add oil to it , then add ginger paste saute for 1 min.
  • Then add red chilli powder and boiled and mashed potatoes, and green peas ,mix it properly.
  • Add Saunf powder, cumin powder , coriander powder, and salt to taste ,mix well , and cover it with lid and cook for 2 min.
  • Add chopped coriander leaves and keep it aside.
  • Now for making samosa take dough make small lemon size balls cover and keep aside.
  • Take 1 ball using rolling board and pin make a oval shape.

  • Cut from the center

  • Seal the edges using water and make the cone.
   

  • Fill the potato masala 3/4 in the cone don't fill too much masala.

  • Pinch the cover on the opposite site of the sealed portion as shown in the image.


  • Join the  seal pinch side and the sealed size together and seal the samosa , likewise make rest of the samosa..

  • In the kadai add oil for frying , As the oil heats up add samosa into the hot oil ,fry it till it becomes golden brown in colour.
  • For curd chutney , take a bowl add curd whisk it for few seconds , add Ginger- garlic- green chilli paste, sugar and salt to taste , mix everything well then add 1/4 Cup water and again mix everything , and curd chutney is ready.
  • Serve hot samosas with curd chutney and enjoy.
