Beetroot Halwa

Bombay masala toast | Street food | steet style masala toast


Ingredients:

For masala

3-4 medium size boiled potatoes
1/4 Tsp Mustard seeds
1/2 Tsp ginger paste
1/4 Tsp turmeric powder
1 Tsp Red chilli powder
1 Tsp Coriander powder
1/2 Tsp Amchur powder
1 tbsp oil
Salt to taste
Fresh coriander leaves

For Assembling

1 onion 
1 tomato
1 Beetroot boiled
1 cucumber
Chat masala
Pudina chutney
6 Bread slices
Nylon sev

Method:

For Masala

  • Take a kadai add 1 tbsp oil to it,as the oil heat up, add mustard seeds and let it splutter.
  • Then add ginger paste, turmeric powder and red chilli powder and saute it .
  • Then add boiled and mashed potatoes, salt , coriander powder, amchur powder, mix it.
  • Cover and cook the masala for 5-7 min and top it with few chopped fresh coriander leaves.

For assembling toast

  • Take 2 bread slices apply butter and pudina chutney to it.
  •  Now spread some potato masala on 1 bread slice .
  • Now add slice cucumber , tomato sprinkle some chat masala and salt.
  •  Now add boiled beetroot slice, and onion slice again add chat masala and salt .
  •  Now place the second bread slice on top of the first slice. Apply some butter on top.
  •  Now heat up  the tawa and add butter on it and place the sandwich on the tawa with       the applied butter portion on top .
  •  Toast it golden brown from both the side.
  •  Take the toast on plate cut it into four pieces and top it with some nylon Sev
  •  Similarly make rest of the toast and enjoy Street style Bombay masala toast.
